FAQs
I'm having suicidal thoughts.
Can you help me?
If you're experiencing suicidal thoughts, it’s essential that you get immediate, specialist help. Please contact your GP urgently, call NHS 111, reach out to your local Mental Health Crisis Team, or speak to the Samaritans or MIND. It’s important to stabilise your situation before considering therapy with us.
Can you cure me of all my
mental health issues?
There’s no magic wand, unfortunately. But what we can do is help you develop the tools to cope better with life’s challenges. Therapy can give you more control over your thoughts, emotions, and day-to-day experiences.
How and where do sessions
take place?
Sessions are held via phone, Zoom, Skype, Whatsapp, Google Meet or Teams — whichever works best for you. It’s ideal to be in a quiet, private space with no distractions so you can fully focus for the hour. This time is for you.
How many sessions will I need?
There’s no set number — it really depends on your unique situation. We're not here to upsell you endless sessions. Our priority is getting you to a better place, at a pace and cost that works for you. We believe in therapy that’s flexible, empathetic, and affordable.
What do I need to do to see positive change?
It starts with you. If you're ready to fully commit to the process and take an honest look at your thinking patterns, big change is possible. But like most things, what you put in is what you’ll get out — you need to be all in.
What kind of psychotherapy
do you offer?
We take a flexible, tailored approach to therapy. After your free consultation, we’ll decide together what’s right for you. This might include a mix of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), mindfulness, and principles inspired by Buddhism. It's all completely bespoke to your needs.
I’ve had counselling before. Can I still work with you?
If you’ve recently completed therapy elsewhere, it’s best to allow some space between approaches. Mixing different therapeutic methods too closely can sometimes be confusing and affect your progress.
Is everything I share confidential?
Yes, completely. We’re fully GDPR-compliant and treat your information with the utmost care. Notes from sessions are securely stored and only accessible by our team. The only exception is if we believe you or someone else is at serious risk — in those rare cases, we may need to contact other services like your GP or the police, in line with legal and ethical obligations.
Can I stop therapy if it’s not working for me?
Of course — it’s your journey. We’ll review things together after each session, but if at any point it doesn’t feel right, you’re free to pause or stop. No pressure, no obligation.
I’m on an NHS waiting list. Should I wait or start therapy with you?
The NHS is a brilliant service, but waiting lists can be long — and unfortunately, mental health struggles often worsen while you wait. Many people find that getting support sooner, even short-term, can make a real difference. You don’t have to wait in silence.
Are you a member of the BACP?
No — and that’s a conscious choice. We prefer to put our resources into helping clients directly rather than paying increasing membership fees just to display a badge. Our focus is on affordable, high-quality therapy, not appearances
